Combination treatments

We hear about combos in the food industry all the time but what about when we pick from the menu of aesthetic procedures? Is it possible to combine treatments in one session or in close succession? The answer is yes you can, but it depends on the treatment. Not everything is compatible because different healing times happen, but some treatments are used to prepare the skin or body for the key event. Think of it like an entree to the main course.

Sometimes patients come to see me in a panic because they have waited a long time to make a change but are also scared of doing so. They also want to see results quickly to make up for lost time and this is where the combo comes into play. If for example they want to soften fine lines and wrinkles, improve folds and add freshness to the skin, I will suggest a neurotoxin and fillers combo. The results are pretty instant.

Dermaplaning the skin before a more intensive treatment such as the CO2 fractional laser can prepare the skin by giving the laser a clean, blank canvas that enables better penetration.  The results from this combo can appear faster too. On the flip side a laser treatment can benefit from some healing using plasma. After extracting the plasma from a patient’s blood I can inject or smooth the “liquid gold” which contains nutrients and growth factors across the skin. This really is a double whammy!

The PDO thread lift is a great physical lift for the sagging skin around the lower face and jaw. Combining it with Kybella fat dissolving injections tackles the stubborn fat deposit under the chin that cannot be tackled by threads. This is definitely a high impact combo.

The benefits of combo treatments are obvious. You get faster and longer lasting results, you can tackle several issues and you save time!
