Get ahead of that wedding! Part 1

Planning a wedding involves  a lot more than getting the dress, the flowers, the venue and the food ready. It is about getting the bride ready too! So many brides get overwhelmed when they start planning for their big day and it is one of the most stressful events in a person’s life!

When it comes to the bride most of all she wants to look good in her dress, have gorgeous hair and makeup. One of the biggest things a bride does after setting a date is to look at her body and decide what she needs to do to tone up or lose weight.

But what does she do about her skin, and hair health? Many brides to be by pass this and in a last minute panic decide they have to do something. The stress of wedding planning sets the cortisol stress hormones flowing and that can lead to skin issues – the opposite look for great skin! So to alleviate this stress I have a timeline I like to give to my blushing brides to be. I start with a 12 month, 6 month, 3 month, 1 month and week before plan. This way the bigger and more costly (in terms of healing) treatments are out of the way and are working their magic until the wedding day and beyond!

12 months before

Start collagen induction and stimulation. This includes a plasma regimen for the face and hair. Sessions are repeated every 3 months so the last one should be a month before the wedding day. You can also have 3-6 sessions of the SkinPen every 4 – 6 weeks and mesotherapy can commence now too. I recommend 3 – 6 sessions, 2 – 4 weeks apart. With collagen induction therapies like these any skin pricks or bruises will heal after a week or so. Plasma pen fibroblast can be done now too, it starts working 3 months after the first treatment with the next one 3 months later. After 2 weeks the scabs fall off. So make sure you start this treatment ahead of time.

Lumecca™ IPL can commence now too it only takes 1-2 sessions to see desired results and they can occur 6 months apart. For collagen stimulating fillers I suggest Sculptra facial and lip filler for plumping up the face. It takes a few months to get working with effects continuing over the coming year.

Body contouring treatments like Morpheus8 RF Microneedling take a few months to show final results so starting them early means you will be body ready for the big day. EvolveX Transform shows results sooner but if you are on a weight management program then it can enhance that effort. Start drinking water! It will make a huge difference to your skin and its healing too, improve your diet with healthy food. Begin an exercise regime now and get that steady slow weight loss going. Walk, swim, pilates are your friends!
