Take Pride!

LGBTQ Pride Month is dedicated to celebration and commemoration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride. It began after the 1969 gay liberation protests known as the Stonewall riots and is a worldwide phenomenon. It’s a very special celebration because it represents the victory over oppression and prejudice and it means a huge amount to me and my team because we have a large LGBTQ client base. Personally for me it’s not really just a month to recognize the movement, it’s a way of being that we should all (in and outside the community) be working towards in a healthy way.

So this brings me on to some of the things I’m proud of. I’m proud of the clients who have taken their first steps towards claiming their identities, I see a lot of patients for gender affirming care and they just make me glow because I’m able to help them on their journeys. I’m proud of our wonderful male gay couples who are so adventurous when it comes to their health and beauty regimes, they embrace treatments with fun and vigor. I’m proud of the way this diverse community just comes together with support and love for each other and even for my clinic when they spread the word! I am also proud of the hard work my team has put into making the clinic the success that it is.

Isn’t life great when you have pride? In your efforts, your work and your appearance? I think so and I’m glad that so many of you also do! It’s so easy to feel ashamed of how you look, and how that impacts your life can be dramatic, that’s why I place a great emphasis of working on the inside as well as the outside. The two are connected, when you look good, you feel good and vice versa. It’s my job to make sure those two conflicts are set aside and am extremely proud to say I’ve been able to help my wonderful clients to reclaim their self esteem. So if you’re feeling like you need a little push in the right direction then I’m here for you!
