International Day of Friendship

What does friendship mean to you? To me it’s about listening, supporting, loyalty, strength, fun and laughter and sometimes it’s even about tears and sadness. Yes, that’s right like any good relationship friendship includes the good and the bad and how you deal with it.

I am grateful for the friends I have and the new friends I get to meet every day I do my job! So without further ado I’m going to move on to the subject of moral support when it comes to beauty. Remember the good old days when you were in your bathroom with your best friend as a teenager? It was either learning how to wax legs or pluck eyebrows or dyeing hair or trying out a new body lotion or face cream. There were successes and failures but always laughter and support.

So fast forward to being an adult and having treatments. It can be so intimidating going for the first facial or chemical peel or even laser hair removal. There’s the fact you’re meeting someone new, a stranger who you are placing yourself in the hands of. My advice is don’t do it alone! Bring your best friend, that could be your BFF, your husband or wife, your partner, your sister, brother or mother even your mother-in-law!

So what’s the point of this? Moral support alleviates stress and anxiety. Trusting yourself to someone new and a procedure that is new, is stressful. Having someone that calms you, keeps you comfortable and stops you from panicking, is a great way to break the ice with the practitioner and the procedure. And before you ask, does that mean everything is painful or scary? Not at all, but new things are always daunting.

I like to ensure that I create a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere when I see clients because it makes for a better and more effective outcome. So now all you have to do is have a look to see what you might want to do with your friend. So come in and see us at Invigorate Advanced Aesthetics in Centennial, Colorado and have some PDO threads or an Aquafirm XS facial.
